AFTER

I am very excited to show the results of our table makeover!  It took a little bit of trial and error to get the table to take a whitewashed stain, but in the end it was the perfect combination of modern and rustic.  I used dried flowers as the centerpiece to highlight the colors of the season.  Also on the table is a Juliska pitcher, a cheeseboard from Pier 1 and custom made napkins from a Balinese fabric I purchased on our honeymoon.

The best part about a new piece of furniture is enjoying it!  We celebrated by having a small dinner party and setting the table using Waterford linens and antique brass candlesticks.

MAKE IT YOURS

A FRESH START

Spring is always an exciting time with the warm weather finally making an appearance and the burst of color and energy that appears in the world.

For me, it is a very exciting time for two major reasons.  First, I've just moved out of New York City after living and working there for the past 10 years.  The new place is an apartment in Jersey City (an old police station!) so there is a lot of planning and designing to do.  I plan on documenting this process here.  I hope that I can share with you the excitement of using design to reimagine how you live your life.  Below is a shot of the living room as a blank slate.  Check back often for progress shots!

Second, after years of dreaming about it, I've started my own interior design firm.  This is a huge undertaking and I could not have done it without the support of my friends, family, and colleagues.

Inspiration, design tips, and local hot spots will be featured on the site - I hope you it gives you your daily dose of creative energy.  Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!
